Delivery

My girls arrived 10 days ago on Feb. 12. Ainsely arrived at 8:24 weighing 6 lb 3 oz and 18 1/2 inches long. Lydia arrived 1 min and 18 sec later at 8:25 weighing 6 lb 2 oz and 18 inches long. I was scheduled for a c-section on the 18th but praying to go sooner. On Friday I was having contractions off and on all day but nothing consistent. Finally about 8:30 pm they were more consistent. All day I did lots of walking and even had a ankle massage by a friend who says if you are ready to go into labor it can help get you going. I had the massage about 4 pm and by 9 was hoping it was the real thing. We headed to the L&D about midnight and I was feeling them about 8 min apart. They hooked me up and sure enough, I was even having some smaller ones so they were 3 minutes apart if you count those. MY OB was out of town (she didn't tell me.) so her partner was at the hospital about to deliver another baby they hooked me up to an IV but I wouldn't let them give me any terb. I had been advised by my MFM that it is dangerous with twins. He thought it might stop it as my OB wasn't there. But I was ready to go, even without her. He had another c-section scheduled for 9 am so he had me wait out the 5 hrs and delivered me at 8 am. I got sick after they put in the spinal tap so that wasn't fun. I got to see both girls after they checked them out. Ainsley was struggling to breath and went to the special care nursery until her labs came back clear. I did go in every 3 hr and breast fed her. Lydia never left my side and I could nurse her immediately.
