Whittier Family Christmas Party

Every year my grandma holds a Christmas party in Morgan, UT for all my Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. This was the main reason we headed to Utah. Here are a few shots of the family

We all opened gifts from Grandma.

My Dad had sent books for his sons, and son-in-laws entitled 211 Things a Bright Boy Can Do. It is quite the book and has some very funny explanations. We were all reading them
Carley loved to hold both babies and here she is showing a toy to Tanner.
Uncle Jack and Aunt Robynn came from Colorado. Here are some of my cousins after dinnerMy sister Cherise and her family My little brother Troy came out to visit Justin over the holidays so it was good to see him.
Katelynn loved the babies. Here she is singing Jingle Bells to them over and over. They just stared at her the whole time. She even read them a book and explained the pictures.
Carley and Katelyn had a great time together.
We played a game to see which side of the table could pass the M&M's fastest using a straw and no hands. It was pretty funny.

Our First Trip

We took the babies on their first road trip. I was amazed at how well they did. We left Thursday at 1:30 am after Kyle got off work and loaded the car. They slept until 1 hour before SLC. We stopped and fed them and continued on to see Kyle's Grandma. The babies were so good and smiled all the time.

We met as Virginia Whittier's on Friday night. 5 of 8 were there. We had a good time and it was fun to spend time together.

Ther were happy for their Aunt Jamie and Uncle Shane
Katelynn loved to play with them and could always make them smile. Uncle Troy got to see them for the first time.
Then we spent the night at Shane's. Tanner was watching football with his Uncle. He zoned right in. He may become a football fan, Go Hokies!

Christmas Morning

Here are a few pictures from Christmas morning. Dad brought the babies down stairs to see what Santa left.

Kayla was excited to talk on the phone.
Tanner got his own phone too, Maybe they will talk to each other.
Playing with wrapping paper is always fun.
After our lang day we were exhausted. Notice the new hat Grandma made.

Twas the Night Before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, where it all begun
Not a creature was stirring, not even a little one.

Twas the night before Christmas, where it all begun
Not a creature was stirring, not even a little one.
The stockings were laid on the couch with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there

The twins were tucked all snug in their crib,
While dreaming of milk all over their bib.

And papa in his cab, and I in my PJs,
Had just settled down for a break from the frays
When out in the desert there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the computer to see what was the matter.
Away to the door I flew like a flash,
Drew open the blinds with the sound of a crash.
The light in our yard from the strip far away

Gave the illusion on people gambling all day.

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, out the door he goes!
He sprang to his sleigh, to his jackrabbits he proceeds,
And away they all flew like the rolling of tumbleweeds.
But I heard him exclaim, ‘ere he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas from the Hardmans, hope yours was a delight!"

Our Weekend

The babies are enjoying playing so much now. I am putting them in the exercauser now, they only like it for a few minutes but hopefully so they will be able to spend more time in it.

My sister found the bumbo for $4 at a yard sale. They are $40 at the store and even $20 used, so it was a great find. She brought it all the way from Texas for us. So even Tanner has to use the pink one. They are loving it and liking being able to sit up and play more. They look so old.

I love how when they lay by each other they always hold hands. I am always taking pictures of them holding hands. I hope they are always good friends.

Aren't we cute

This is how Daddy loves to sit with his babies, but now they like to play and will get bored. I always tell him he needs to give them toys. I went shopping today and left him with both babies awake. He was so proud that he sat on the floor and played with them for an hour and 10 min. What a good daddy.

I went in the other day to put something in their room and this is how they were sleeping. They are starting to wake each other up more now, so I want to put them in seperate cribs, but they are so cute together. I went in the other day after I had put them down 40 min earlier and thought they wer asleep as they were not fussy, but I go in and both heads are up, and they are wide awake talking to each other. I am sure that will start to happen more often.

Baby Einstein

Everyone I know raved about Baby Einstein videos. I wasn't sure how mine would take to the videos. I tried a month ago and they didn't care. But now they love it. The video we have is 25 min and most of the time they will watch the whole thing without fussing. I can go get ready in teh morning or get some cooking done. Even if they are tired or grumpy, they will often watch for a while happy. It is nice to finally have something they love. THey never liked the swing or anything else for very long especially if they were fussy. It is great. I even have some friends who will lend me other videos so I won't have to watch the same one 1000 times, only 100:)

Christmas party

We got all ready to go to the Christmas party at church. I even dressed them alike in red. In the past years Santa has visited, but he wasn't there this year, so sad. They might not get to see him this year, but I wanted a picture. So I brought the monitor and put them in an empty room and let them sleep so we could enjoy the dinner and program. Our primary put on the best chirstmas program I have ever seen. They didn't act out Luke 2 like it typical. THey sang many songs and acted out the cutest play.I don't know who wrote it but it was great, cute, funny, and even touching. The best part was when our bishop was the donkey and sang a song in character. We were all rolling.

First baby food

I have been feeding them cereal for a couple of weeks now, but this was the first time they got baby food. They had green beans and liked them. They had trouble swallowing it as you can see by the mess all over their faces, Tanner even more so. It is quite the task to feed them both

Pictures

I had never taken them to get their pictures. So when we had Christmas pictures taken, we also took these matching pictures. They turned out much better than the Christmas pictures. Now I just have to get prints and get them framed.

If you remember trying to take baby pictures and getting them to smile, it can be hard. But to get them both to smile, try impossible.

P J 's

Our Christmas Tree
Both Kyle and I often got new PJ's for Christmas. We have decided to carry on the tradition. Since we already had these I decided they could wear them early and get some good use out of them. We were laughing at how the hat fit Tanner perfect but was way too big for Kayla. I guess Tanner got the big Whittier head.
Kayla was asleep until Kyle got the camera out then she had to wake up and show off.

Christmas Pictures

I had a friend from the ward come over and take pictures with her nice camera. I wished for better but you know babies. We took them in 2 sessions and on the second session Kayla was not feeling well. So I am not too happy with the family picture, but that is life.

This is about the only picture where she looks kinda happy.
